Hey guys, today i am doing a post on Port Melbourne and The Melbourne Cup. so Port Melbourne is about 3km i’m from the city Melbourne in Victoria Australia. i went here for Melbourne Cup which was on Tuesday 5th November 2019.
Port Melbourne is an amazing place to go to and i would recommend it to people who come to Melbourne for either a holiday or a day out of Melbourne. When i went to Port Melbourne i did some things before the Melbourne cup was on.
if you guys don’t know what the Melbourne Cup is i can explain. so the Melbourne Cup is a day of horse racing basically. There is a bunch of different horses and one of the most famous horses to every race in the Melbourne Cup was Phar Lap.
Phar Lap was a really good horse that won lots of races. unfortunately he died in 1932 (yes it was a long tine ago) but he is still known today. Michelle Payne was another really famous jokey. she was the first women to win the melbourne cup in 2015. unfortunately she had some falls that injured her but she learnt from them and became the first female jockey to win the cup. she is now retired.
anyway back to port melbourne. so when i was there i got really good fish and chips and then we went for a walk to the pier. it was really nice.
i got to spend this really nice time with my cousins, my oma and opa and my family. i would really recommend going here if you haven’t been here before.
